Explore Sydney Like A Local

What To Do

Sydney has a never-ending supply of fun things to experience and explore. The classics will always be there (like swimming at Bondi Icebergs, climbing the Harbour Bridge, or perusing The Rocks Markets) but there are tons of other great things to see and do. Take a backstage tour of the Sydney Opera House and get a behind-the-scenes look at the famous white sails. Peek into the orchestra pits and dressing rooms to experience it as the performers do. If you’re so inclined, try the Foodie Tour and get a taste of the award-winning cuisine and unparalleled views.

Enjoy a bit of art and culture with a trip to the Museum of Contemporary Art, with exceptional exhibitions from both Australia and international artists. Alternatively get after-hours access to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Every Wednesday night they stay open to 9:00 pm and visitors can indulge in talks and events, drinks and food and the gallery’s expansive collection.

Hop on a ferry to experience Sydney Harbour at its best and take in the unbeatable views. Take one of Sydney’s heritage vessels to the coastal hotspot of Manly Beach, visit the historic sites of Cockatoo Island, or loop around to the entertainment precinct of Darling Harbour.

Where To Eat & Drink

The CBD’s ever-growing precinct, Barangaroo, is home to a wide range of amazing shops, restaurants and bars. Go for a stroll up and down theharbourside boardwalk before taking your pick of some of the city’s bestdrinking and dining spots. A few of our favourites are Anason for a taste of the Mediterranean or Lotus for contemporary Chinese.

Looking for a drink with a view? Our top spot for a cheeky beverage or two is Hotel Palisade’s rooftop bar Henry Deane. With views inevery direction, there’s no bad seat in the house. The drinks menu doesn’t disappoint and share plates are available if you’re feeling peckish. Make sure you have a booking as it can be difficult to get a table as a walk-in. For aclassic Sydney day out, take a ferry to the beer garden at Watsons Bay Hotel for a buzzy vibe, great drinks and stunning harbour views.
